3 most important things to consider when standing in your booth at the fair

This post takes 2 min to read and is written by Annika

"DON'T BOTHER ME!" you'd never say to anyone coming up to your stand, would you? But are you aware of what you're saying with your body language? Because unfortunately, we often see exhibitors hanging with their mobile phone over a standing table or eating their lunch at the booth with body language that signals just "don't bother me."

People will never forget how you made them feel

So just as you set goals for your exhibition participation, spend as much care on how you want to make the visitor feel. Because that's the case, the first impression I get from you is also what I get from your company.

But how should you act when you're standing in your booth?

How to act as an exhibitor at the Gapwaves fair

Here we give you our 3 best and proven tips

1. Put your phone in your pocket

Let your loved ones know what days you are exhibiting and that you cannot take calls during the fair's opening hours. If you absolutely have to, make sure you are enough people working in the booth so that you have the opportunity to walk away.

2. Eat your lunch anywhere but in your booth

Have someone who can relieve you so you can eat your lunch in peace and quiet, it's nicer for both you and your visitors. In addition, make it wonder for your mental energy to be allowed to walk away for a while during long fair days.

3. Smile, stand up and stretch

You never know who's watching. So smile and show with your body language that this means something to you - that you're interested in meeting new acquaintances. And always have something to bid on. How many new relationships have started over a cup of coffee?

Finally; it doesn't matter if you're a small company with a smaller booth exhibiting among big, strong brands. If you want to be seen, make sure to make others feel seen! Pretty obvious, isn't it?!

So don't compromise these simple changes. But see in front of you all the wonderful people you will meet and do business with at the fair 😀
