How do you get people to stop scrolling and actually read what you want to convey on your website and social media?
The simple answer is pictures. Annika takes most of the pictures for our website. On Instagram @annikasomething, she often gets comments about how her photos convey emotion and how they reinforce the story behind the post. Not least, her photos have generated new clients for Front Row Exhibitions. In other words, photos are just as important as any other content on your website. If not more important.
So how do images make the website look more professional?
Images are the most important means of communication online today. That's what we first react to and have the easiest to embrace. Therefore, the image is crucial if you should stop by in the feed and want to read a post, but also stay on a website and to search for more information.
So always look for pictures that convey emotions! Preferably with people when it usually engages the reader more. As long as you can stand for it and the photo matches your business and what you want to convey in the post.
But if I don't feel comfortable taking pictures myself and don't have a photographer available?
If you feel insecure behind the camera, it's better to buy photo licenses from services like Shutterstock, iStock or Adobe Stock. They offer lots of images from popular categories. You absolutely must not take images from Google or similar. Most of them are protected by copyright law and that can cost you.
What do your photos say about your business?
So for your website to look both professional and leave the prints, put a penny on pictures with good quality and that best conveys your message. As the old saying goes: a picture says more than a thousand words!
